Slot Admits Liverpool Have No Room for Error In Title Push

Liverpool head coach Arne Slot has admitted his side can no longer afford mistakes as the Premier League season enters a decisive phase.

The Reds recently secured Champions League last-16 qualification, giving them a clearer domestic schedule until European football resumes in March.

Liverpool will play six league matches in that period, with only one midweek fixture disrupting preparation and recovery time.

Those fixtures include tough clashes against Newcastle, Manchester City, Brighton, West Ham, Wolves, Sunderland and Nottingham Forest.

Slot’s side are chasing consistency after managing just five wins from their last eighteen Premier League matches this season.

Slot acknowledged performances often deserved more, but results ultimately reflect mistakes made at decisive points in matches.

He stressed that with fewer games remaining, Liverpool cannot rely on recovery periods to correct repeated errors.

Injury Concerns and Squad Limitations

Slot hopes the lighter schedule helps injured players recover, but Liverpool still face notable availability concerns.

Jeremie Frimpong is ruled out for several weeks with a groin injury sustained during midweek action.

Joe Gomez remains unavailable, though his return is not expected to take much longer, according to Slot.

Ibrahima Konate has returned from compassionate leave, while Curtis Jones is recovering after recent illness.

Alexander Isak’s recovery from a broken leg will not be rushed, with caution prioritised over quick returns, reports Irish News.

Conor Bradley and Giovanni Leoni have both been ruled out for the remainder of the season.

He maintained signings would only happen if a player clearly improves the squad and remains financially feasible.
