Liverpool forward, Mohamed Salah has been named the Football Writers’ Assocation (FWA) Footballer of the Year after a remarkable season at Liverpool.
According to The Daily Mail, the Egyptian received an incredible 90 percent of the vote to win the award, the most of any player this century, overtaking players like Wayne Rooney, Thierry Henry, and Cristiano Ronaldo.
In all competitions this season, Salah has scored 33 goals and supplied 23 assists, including 28 strikes in the Premier League.
His efforts enabled Arne Slot to lead the Reds to their 20th English Premier League title in his first season, tying rivals Manchester United for the most titles.

The winger has now won the award three times, setting a record. He was also recognized for his achievements in 2017–18 and 2021–22. Henry is the only player to have received the gong as many times as Salah.
Virgil van Dijk, a center defender for Liverpool, was Salah’s closest rival as he came in second in the poll.
Newcastle United forward, Alexander Isak, who has scored 26 goals this season across all competitions, was behind the Dutchman. He played a key role in ending the Magpies’ 56-year trophy wait by scoring against Liverpool in the final.
Declan Rice of Arsenal, who was honored for his efforts in the Premier League and the Champions League, came in fourth place. 15 other players were voted in addition to the four mentioned above.
Phil Foden won the award last season after playing a key role in Manchester City’s historic fourth consecutive Premier League title.
