Ruben Amorim Reveals Why He Snubbed Kobbie Mainoo AGAIN As Manchester United’s Ace Left On Bench

Ruben Amorim stood firm in his decision to overlook Kobbie Mainoo again, as the midfielder went unused in Manchester United’s draw with West Ham.

The Red Devils blew their advantage and had to settle for a share of the points against the relegation-threatened team. Diogo Dalot’s opener was as good as it got for the hosts, with their head coach seeking to make changes to cement their lead and see the game through. Reported By Mirror.

Amorim had utilized all five of his replacements by full-time: Leny Yoro replaced Ayden Heaven at half-time, Dalot was replaced by Patrick Dorgu, and Manuel Ugarte and Mason Mount came on at the same time to replace Matheus Cunha and Joshua Zirkzee. Luke Shaw is paired with Lisandro Martinez during injured time.

Mainoo has not started a game since losing a penalty shootout to Grimsby Town in the Carabao Cup in August, and he is now an unused replacement for the fourth time this season in the Premier League.

When asked if he would change his substitutions if he had more time, the United manager replied, “No, we are losing because of second balls; sometimes it is not more men in front that you will win the ball. Did we have more men to carry out the offense? Who? “Who could be more offensive?”

Mainoo’s name was suggested, but Amorim laughed and replied: “Yes, it was the second ball and I was worried with Matheus, I know Bruno [Fernandes] reached the box really well, Mason Mount is playing in his position, they were trying to push us, Bryan [Mbeumo] has a lot of pace to try to win the ball in one transition, so that was my idea.”
