Ruben Amorim has responded to Cristiano Ronaldo’s comments suggesting he cannot perform “miracles” to restore Manchester United’s former glory.
Ronaldo, speaking to Piers Morgan, claimed Amorim faces an impossible task, saying “miracles only happen in Fatima” when discussing United’s struggles.
The Portuguese legend argued that while United have talented players, some lack the mentality and understanding of what the club truly represents.

Amorim, who joined United earlier this year, addressed the remarks calmly before the Tottenham game, urging everyone to focus on progress.
“Of course, he knows he has a huge impact with everything he says,” Amorim told reporters during his pre-match conference.
“What we need to focus on now is the future,” he added, highlighting the club’s determination to rebuild its identity.
The manager admitted Manchester United made mistakes in the past but insists the team is learning and evolving in key areas, reports Standard.
He explained that major changes are underway in the club’s structure, approach, and player behaviour to ensure long-term improvement and unity.
“We are improving, so let’s continue and forget a little bit the past,” Amorim said, reinforcing his forward-thinking philosophy.
Ronaldo and Amorim may share Portuguese roots, but their contrasting views underline the immense pressure surrounding Manchester United’s ongoing rebuild.
