He expressed anger with imprecise passing and questionable decision-making as United’s midfield duo fought to win yet another key duel.
This should come as no surprise. Fernandes and Casemiro, both 63 years old, must cover a large amount of ground at the heart of Amorim’s 3-4-3 formation.
United sorely need an athletic midfielder to pair with Fernandes. Their interest in Carlos Baleba of Brighton & Hove Albion demonstrated that they are aware of this.
Casemiro is too old, and Manuel Ugarte is not good enough. So what about Kobbie Mainoo? He has played zero minutes in the first two Premier League games.
