Ruben Amorim Axed Two Players As Bryan Mbeumo Set To Miss Two Games

Manchester United’s offseason signings were on full show in their win over Brighton as Ruben Amorim’s side has won three Premier League games in a row.

United appear to have turned a corner following a disappointing start to the season, defeating Brighton 4-2 last time out. Senne Lammens was composed in goal as Matheus Cunha started the scoring and Bryan Mbeumo added a second-half brace.

Winger Mbeumo arrived at Old Trafford for an initial £65 million after scoring 20 Premier League goals for Brentford last year, and he appears to be a wise choice. However, Amorim is expected to be without the Cameroonian for at least two matches.

Bryan Mbeumo will be absent

Mbeumo is increasingly becoming an important part of Amorim’s attack operating to the right of a central striker next to fellow recruit is Cunha. According To Mirror News.

He has already scored four league goals and appears to be getting even more prolific as he settles into Manchester, but he will soon depart the club to represent his country at the Africa Cup of Nations.

Cameroon has qualified for the international event, which will take place in Morocco beginning late December. Mbeumo’s national team begins its group stage competition on December 24.

With this stage extending until December 31, Mbeumo will miss at least United’s games against Newcastle and Wolves. If Cameroon advances to the final, which is scheduled for January 18, he might miss at least three more matches, including the Manchester derby on January 17.

Ruben Amorim axed attacking duo

It has been a year since head coach Amorim took over at Old Trafford, and it was clear when he arrived that some of his attacking choices were not suitable for his style.

Marcus Rashford had been underperforming for Erik ten Hag, and since the Dutch manager was released of his duties, Amorim did not consider the English forward suitable for his starting lineup.
