Wayne Rooney has revealed he once locked wife Coleen out of their house after she celebrated Liverpool’s Premier League title triumph.

The Everton and Manchester United icon admitted his Reds-supporting wife decorated their family home with Liverpool flags following the 2020 success.

Speaking on The Wayne Rooney Show, the former England captain confessed he lost patience with Coleen’s loud celebration and cheeky balcony display.

Rooney explained Coleen climbed out to remove the flags, before he jokingly locked her outside, leaving her stranded temporarily.

He recalled still seeing Liverpool championship flags proudly displayed at his in-laws’ home, which often fuels playful banter within the family.

The ex-striker also shared a surprising encounter with police officers following a heated Merseyside derby clash between Everton and Liverpool.

Rooney remembered being pulled over outside Goodison Park, only to be ushered into a van by officers carrying football shirts, reports Daily Star.

Much to his shock, the police simply wanted autographs, asking him to sign multiple shirts while stunned fans watched the situation unfold.

He admitted he refused to sign the shirts, fuming over the unusual stop just minutes after leaving an intense rivalry match.
