Manchester United legend, Wayne Rooney reportedly has no faith in Ruben Amorim to turn the fortunes around at Old Trafford and believes the soul has gone from his former club.
After Saturday’s 3-1 loss at Brentford, head coach Amorim has only managed 34 points from his 33 Premier League games in charge and has yet to lead the team to back-to-back victories.
Rooney, United’s all-time top scorer, claimed that he attends games with the expectation that the team will lose and believes that certain players are undeserving of playing for the team.
According to reports, Amorim still has the support of United’s board despite the team’s continued dismal performances, which included their Carabao Cup defeat against League Two Grimsby last month.

Rooney Has Lost Faith In Man United Under Amorim
“I just don’t know what’s going on,” Rooney, 39, said on his BBC podcast as quoted by The Evening Standard.
“I have tried my hand in management and it didn’t work out too well, so I get it. Ruben Amorim is my age, he’s still a young manager and I’m sure he’s got a massive future, but what’s going on at Man Utd, this is not Man Utd.
“I honestly hope he can turn it round and he does. But…after everything I’ve seen, honestly, I’ve got no faith in it.”
After winning two Portuguese championships with Sporting Lisbon, Amorim was named Erik ten Hag’s replacement in November.
Last season, United had their worst Premier League season, finishing in 15th place, their lowest position since their 1974 relegation from the old First Division.
“I don’t recognise the whole football club,” said Rooney, who won five Premier League titles and the Champions League with United.
