According to former Blues player John-Obi Mikel, Roman Abramovich still harbors resentment about having to sell Chelsea.

After taking over the Londoners in 2003, Abramovich, now 58, invested hundreds of millions of pounds to make Chelsea the Premier League champions and two-time European champions.
However, soon after Russia invaded Ukraine in 2022, the Russian oligarch’s rule came to an end.
Abramovich’s assets were immediately frozen after the government was urged to impose sanctions on him due to his purported ties to Russian President Vladimir Putin, reports Mirror.
Abramovich is still resentful of the experience more than two years after Chelsea was sold to Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital a few months later.
Mikel, who was a member of the team during Abramovich’s premiership, says so. He revealed on his Obi One podcast that he had managed to speak to people close to Abramovich about the situation.
Mikel said: “It’s just unfortunate what happened: he lost the football club.
I still speak to people close to him and it still pains him. He’s still angry about what happened.
“He’s not happy that he lost his ‘baby’ because Chelsea Football Club was his football club. He really cared about the football club, not just the players but the fans.”
