Rodri, Manchester City’s midfielder has stated that it will be “months” before he returns to his best. Spain’s Rodri is recovering from a long-term cruciate knee ligament injury that kept him out for the most of last season.
Rodri is using the Club World Cup to improve his fitness for the upcoming season, although he acknowledges he is still looking for his top form and sharpness.
City greatly missed their crucial midfielder last year, and Rodri is clearly concerned that it will be some time before he returns to form.

“The most essential thing was to remain focused and powerful. Not be sad or anything. I promised to return one day, and now that day has arrived. I’m so excited to play again.
“I know it will be months before I achieve my level, but I’m very delighted. I feel quite nice and delighted to be here. It’s a fantastic competition to get back into playing football.
However, Rodri believes the Club World Cup is great for him to improve his fitness. He continued, “Now is a fantastic time for me to return.
“Maybe if this event does not happen, I will go on vacation. But for me, individually, it’s a fantastic opportunity to return to the greatest level and compete in a competition we’ve never played before.
“The concept is just great. I believe we’re excited. You can notice the difference between clubs from all over the world. It’s beneficial and exciting for the people.”
