The Belgian shot-stopper has seized the No. 1 role since replacing Altay Bayindir, helping restore calm and confidence in defence.
Lammens, a summer signing initially viewed as a gamble, has exceeded expectations under Ruben Amorim’s leadership at Old Trafford.
Ferdinand believes the team’s resurgence stems from the goalkeeper’s composure, commanding presence, and ability to inspire trust.
He said, “It’s no coincidence our form improved. We’ve now got a keeper everyone trusts, and it’s showing in results.”
Mbeumo And De Ligt earn Ferdinand’s praise
Ferdinand also singled out Bryan Mbeumo, calling the winger “a joke” for his creativity and consistency since arriving from Brentford.
The England legend described Mbeumo as one of the Premier League’s most complete wingers, capable of scoring, assisting, and relieving pressure.
Meanwhile, Matthijs de Ligt’s leadership at the back has earned admiration after his late equaliser rescued a draw against Tottenham, reports Mirror.
Ferdinand said the Dutch defender has been “outstanding,” combining aggression, timing, and attacking awareness to steady United’s defence.
With Amorim’s side now showing balance and belief, Ferdinand’s comments underline the growing optimism around Old Trafford’s revival.
