Richards Urges Arsenal To Sign Real Madrid Star

Micah Richards has reportedly advised Arsenal to go all in for Real Madrid forward, Rodrygo Goes as he is the one to solve a lot of problems for them in the left wing.

Even though Viktor Gyokeres cost £63.5 million to sign, a defender gave Arsenal the only goal against Manchester United after Altay Bayindir misjudged the ball and Riccardo Calafiori scored.

Apart from that, Arsenal’s top line appeared aesthetically lackluster as they only managed three shots on goal, which was less than half of what United was able to achieve.

Since Gabriel Martinelli only generated one chance before getting subtituted on the hour mark, the left wing stood out for its lack of contribution. In his 30-minute cameo, Noni Madueke, who replaced him, created an equal number of opportunities.

Given that Real Madrid are rumored to be willing to let go of Rodrygo, according to Football 365, Richards thinks the 24-year-old could be the solution to Mikel Arteta’s issues, especially with Bukayo Saka on the other wing.

Whar Did Richards Say About Arsenal Going All In For Rodrygo?

“I still think they’re a left winger short or left forward short,” Richards said on The Rest is Football.

“Although I prefer Madueke on the right-hand side rather than the left, I just look at that position on the left-hand side [and] think if they could sort that. They were linked to Rodrygo, that could solve a lot of problems for them.”

Richards did though praise Arsenal’s strength in depth, pointing to the substitutions of Myles Lewis-Skelly and Mikel Merino as a sign of how much the Gunners have improved.

“It’s a massive win away from home, and it just gives you the momentum that you need for the start of the season.”
