Real Madrid’s ‘First Signing For 2026’ Labelled As ‘Deal Of The Century’

Real Madrid’s ‘First Signing For 2026’ Labelled As ‘Deal Of The Century’

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is about to pull off the “deal of the century” by bringing Nico Paz back to Estadio Bernabeu.

According to TEAMtalk, the response that Paz’s entourage has given to teams like Arsenal and Liverpool regarding a possible move to the Emirates Stadium or Anfield has pointed towards that.

Paz has been a revelation since joining Como from Real Madrid in the summer of 2024.

The 21-year-old attacking midfielder for Argentina has made 51 appearances for Cesc Fabregas’ team, scoring 11 goals and providing 14 assists. He has become one of Serie A’s top young players.

Paz’s contract with Como has buy-back clause, which allows the Spanish and European powerhouses to acquire the young player in the summer of 2026 for €9 million (£8 million, $10.6 million).

The playmaker has “already said yes” to returning to Estadio Bernabeu, according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, who disclosed in November that Real Madrid have chosen to activate the buy-back clause in Paz’s contract next summer.

Even if Los Blancos are poised to finalize a deal for Manex Rezola, Romano stated that Paz will be Madrid’s “first signing for 2026.”

Rezola, a 19-year-old attacking midfielder from fourth-tier Logrones, is expected to join Madrid, according to The Athletic on December 22.

The teenager is not currently a member of Xabi Alonso’s senior team, though, since he will first play for Los Blancos’ third team, which is in the same tier as Logrones, before being promoted to Real Madrid Castilla.
