Real Madrid Youngster Disappointed By Club’s Shirt Number Choice

Endrick, Real Madrid’s budding star, is reportedly disappointed because the club decided not to give him the historic number 9 shirt.

According to SPORT, the decision has not been well received by the Brazilian, who feels marginalized even before the season has begun.

Although it has not been officially confirmed, significant reports from numerous sources suggest that Real Madrid has chosen Gonzalo Garcia to wear the number 9 shirt for the upcoming season.

This move has stunned many fans, not because Gonzalo is undeserving, but because it sends a clear statement about Endrick’s role on the team.

Decision following a strong performance.

Gonzalo received a lot of plaudits for his impressive performances at the Club World Cup, which appeared to play a significant role in the club’s choice.

However, it also shows that Endrick is considered as a secondary option—as it was last season.

According to journalist Alberto Pereiro, Endrick was obviously unhappy when the decision was announced in the locker room. Pereiro revealed:

“I was told that Endrick’s expression in the locker room wasn’t great. The truth is that in order to make one person happy, you must make another sad.

“Madrid has insisted that Endrick go for another club, and he has repeatedly refused. “No and no…” And I believe we’ll have to have this talk again in January,” Pereiro said.

A challenging season ahead for Endrick

Endrick is currently behind Kylian Mbappe and Gonzalo in the pecking order, which means he will likely play fewer minutes.

Earlier hopes that a new manager, such as Xabi Alonso, might improve things were shattered, particularly after Endrick’s recent injury setback.

In Mbappe’s absence, Gonzalo stepped up and performed well enough to secure a permanent spot on the squad.

This scenario puts Endrick in a difficult position, with his future at the club becoming increasingly questionable as the season progresses. A important talk about his role could now take place in January.
