Real Madrid superstar Vinicius Jr, says he has been closely following the Lucas Paqueta transfer issue and hopes the West Ham star will join Flamengo this month.
The Hammers star has made it obvious that he wants to leave London during the January transfer window and join the Brazilian giants.
The 28-year-old began his career with Flamengo before making his professional debut for the Rio de Janeiro club in 2016.
He departed for AC Milan in 2019, then moved on to Lyon and West Ham in 2022.

Paqueta now wants to return home, and while the Hammers do not want to let him go during a relegation battle, talks between the teams are ongoing.
Vinicius Jr., who came up through Flamengo’s ranks and played alongside Paqueta there and still does for Brazil, is eager for his friend to return to Rio.
Speaking after scoring in Real Madrid’s 6-1 win against Monaco on Tuesday, the 25-year-old forward was questioned if the likelihood of Paqueta returning to Flamengo had any impact on him.
“Every day!” Vinicius told TNT Sports. ‘Every day, I ask my managers, who are also his managers, and I send him messages.
I wish him happiness. His happiness is mine, as is Flamengo’s.
‘Now it will be a complete bundle. God willing, he will be able to finalize this contract in the coming days and have a fantastic year for Flamengo and the Brazilian national team.”
According to ESPN, the London and Rio teams are negotiating a price for Paqueta, with West Ham willing to take 45 million (£39 million) for the offensive midfielder.
This represents a £10 million decrease from their initial value, but it is still greater than Flamengo’s offer of $35 million (£30 million).
