Real Madrid forward, Vinicius Jr. has overtaken Lionel Messi’s assist record in the UEFA Champions League knockout stages.
According to Madrid Universal, in a notably lesser number of games, the Brazilian forward has now more assists than the great Messi in this round of the competition.
Despite playing 50 fewer games than Messi, Vinicius has already broken the Argentine’s record of 12 assists in the Champions League knockout stages of his career with 13 assists.
Messi’s stats, however, continue to be exceptional when it comes to goals in the later stages of the competition.

In 77 appearances, the Argentine forward has scored an incredible 49 goals in Champions League knockout games.
