According to The Mirror, the La Liga team have stepped up negotiations with the Reds in an effort to close a deal as soon as possible.
Alexander-Arnold should be in the team by the time Los Blancos play their opening Club World Cup match, according to new manager Xabi Alonso.
Real want to make the most of the early part of the transfer window, which runs from June 1 to June 10, which has been made possible for the tournament. The Spanish giants will play Al-Hilal in Miami on June 18.
