Real Madrid Ponder Over Multi-Million Compensation From Barcelona

Real Madrid Ponder Over Multi-Million Compensation From Barcelona

Real Madrid and Barcelona’s structural relationship is at an all-time low, and the Spanish capital club are still escalating the Negreira case.

Real Madrid have been attacking Barcelona, first through Florentino Perez’s comments and then by their actions in court, since Barcelona decided to make amends with UEFA and the ECA and leave the Super League.

During his court testimony earlier this month, Joan Laporta, the president of Barcelona, was questioned by the Los Blancos attorney.

More recently, Real Madrid asked for records pertaining to Barca’s financial reports and audits from 2010 to 2018.

Real Madrid Decide To Pursue compensation.

According to AS as reported by Barca Universal, Real Madrid plan to proceed beyond the current legal proceedings.

The potential to demand multi-million-euro compensation from Barcelona for damages resulting from the payments made to Negreira is part of the approach under consideration.

Reports on games and competitions that were yet to take place, as well as boxes with purported reports that were shown but never made it to the coaching staff—as confirmed by those involved in their testimony to the Prosecutor’s Office—are among the matters under investigation.

Real Madrid further contend that the testimony of Barcelona executives in court on their knowledge of the €8.4 million given to Negreira, the vice-president of the Referees’ Technical Committee at the time, is inconsistent.

The 15-time Champions League winners managed to get the probe extended to March 1st a few months ago.

Laporta was questioned as a result. The next, but not the final step is to request audits and documentation.
