Despite been handed yet another setback with Trent Alexander-Arnold’s injury, Real Madrid have apparently chosen not to join the January transfer window.
The club has no plans to add any players in January, as they stick to their typical principles of avoiding investing in the winter transfer window.
However, it has not deterred Real Madrid from attempting to strengthen their young ranks, with the club reportedly close to acquiring a teenage prodigy from Spain’s lower divisions.
Real Madrid is close to signing Rezola.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Real Madrid is on the verge of signing Manex Rezola, a 19-year-old sensation from UD Logrones, during the upcoming January transfer window.
The operation is nearing completion, with Real Madrid preparing to trigger the player’s €150,000 release clause.

The attacking midfielder’s future plans are clear: he will start with Real Madrid C, but if he makes an impact, he might transfer to Alvaro Arbeloa’s RM Castilla.
Rezola was born in 2006 and is a left-footed attacking midfielder who can also play on the wing.
His growth has brought him through numerous local Basque clubs, including Antiguoko, Koxkas, Arrupe, and Vasconia, before bursting into the scene in his second season with UD Logrones, where he is under contract until 2029.
According to the source, Real Madrid outbid several Spanish clubs for Rezola, including Athletic Club, Girona, Oviedo, and Osasuna.
Second-tier clubs including Cadiz, Sporting Gijon, and Cordoba expressed an interest.
Rezola had even gotten an offer from Saudi Arabia, but he had no intention of relocating to the Middle East so soon in his career. He now appears to be planning a move to Madrid.
