Real Madrid Legend Agrees Return To Club As Ambassador Following Retirement

Karim Benzema’s remarkable career in Real Madrid, which culminated in a Ballon d’Or victory, came to an end in the summer of 2023.

After 14 years at the Santiago Bernabeu, the 38-year-old striker joined Al-Ittihad in Saudi Arabia, where he has continued to play admirably.

Benzema To Make Real Madrid Return

Benzema was present as Real Madrid and Barcelona faced off in the Spanish Super Cup last night.

According to Madrid Universal, Los Blancos and the former French international are reportedly in agreement over the player’s potential return to the club.

The report claims that Benzema has an open invitation to rejoin Real Madrid. He has already consented to serve as an ambassador after he stops playing.

This is hardly surprising given Benzema’s close relationship with Madrid and club president Florentino Perez.

Talking about the possibility in a recent interview, Benzema said: “Real Madrid return? If Florentino is still there, it could happen. I talk to him and it’s possible.”

“I’m a Madridista. I feel it in my soul. Madrid is still my city. We’ll see what happens,” he added.

After making almost 650 appearances and scoring 354 goals, the 38-year-old legend departed the team.

In addition to numerous other honors, he won five UEFA Champions League titles, four La Liga championships, three Copa del Rey medals, and three Spanish Super Cups.

Benzema’s contract with Al-Ittihad is set to expire at the conclusion of the current season. There hasn’t been any indication that he is currently considering retirement.

However, the Frenchman will return to Real Madrid as an ambassador after he hangs up his boots.
