Real Madrid are looking for a replacement defender following Eder Militao’s season-ending injury, which is anticipated to keep him out for at least nine months.
Los Blancos are interested in signing Aymeric Laporte, Castello Lukeba, and Jonathan Tah, as well as Ajax prospect Jorrel Hato.
According to MARCA, Real Madrid has also targeted former Atletico Madrid defender Mario Hermoso as a potential backline reinforcement.
The 29-year-old is a Real Madrid youth product who is still highly remembered at the club, despite leaving in 2017 without making a senior debut to join RCD Espanyol.
Hermoso spent five years at Atletico Madrid from 2019 to 2024 before joining AS Roma as a free agent this summer.

The Spanish international has established himself as a regular starter for the Serie A giants, and he appears to have piqued the interest of his hometown club.
Real Madrid values Hermoso’s experience in La Liga as well as his versatility, as he can play as both a centre-back and a left-back.
Furthermore, his understanding of the club, having spent several years climbing through the youth ranks, and ball-playing ability benefit him.
Hermoso, for his part, would be open to a return to Spain, despite having adapted well to life in Italy. However, with a deal until 2027, he could command a high sum, especially since Roma signed him less than six months ago.
