Real Madrid reportedly held an internal discussion over the potential signing of Club Brugge midfielder, Ardon Jashari.
The Swiss international is being offered for sale this summer with AC Milan thought to be in the lead. But the Belgian club’s €40 million asking price is turning out to be a significant roadblock.
Several elite European clubs have expressed interest in Jashari, but Milan are unwilling to pay the requested amount.
In contrast, Real Madrid took the time to evaluate the player and had several internal discussions over his suitability for the squad.

According to Madrid Universal, Jashari’s name came up during those discussions because manager Xabi Alonso has recently pressed for improving the midfield.
Sources close to the club stated that Jashari is not viewed as the ideal match despite these talks.
According to reports, Alonso and the club’s executives believe the 22-year-old lacks the talent necessary to contribute right away at the Santiago Bernabeu.
The club’s interest has cooled as a result, and Madrid are unlikely to make a deal unless something unforeseen happens.
Rather, the club’s attention is now on other things. At the moment, managing player exits and squad reduction are the top priorities.
Officials think that the main goals of the transfer window—particularly the aim of adding new players to the backline—have already been accomplished.
The defense has been strengthened and modernized with the addition of talented players like Trent Alexander-Arnold, Franco Mastantuono, Alvaro Carreras, and Dean Huijsen.
After completed this part of the strategy, los Blancos are no longer in a rush to make significant midfield changes until a top-tier possibility presents itself.
