Liverpool could earn more than £1.5 million if they agree to Real Madrid’s Trent Alexander-Arnold request. The defender confirmed his departure from Anfield on Monday morning, ending a remarkable career on Merseyside.
Alexander-Arnold will depart for nothing at the conclusion of his contract, and while he has not declared his next move, he is largely tipped to join Spanish heavyweights Real Madrid. If that happens, he would officially join Real Madrid after his contract with Liverpool expires on June 30.
According to Sky Sports, Real Madrid has already approached Liverpool about purchasing Alexander-Arnold so that he can play in this summer’s Club World Cup.
Their first game is against Saudi side Al-Hilal on June 18, just before the defender’s contract expires. It is urged that they should follow up on their initial approach.

Meanwhile, COPE reports that Real may be willing to spend up to €1 million (£850,000) to sign Alexander-Arnold a month early. And, given that Liverpool would save roughly £800,000 on the defender’s salaries, Arne Slot’s side could possibly save over £1.6 million if they agree to Real’s offer.
If it goes through, Alexander-Arnold will sign a six-year contract in Spain. Before that, he stated why he had opted to leave his boyhood club.
Speaking after the announcement, he stated, “I believe the decision for me is personal. To challenge myself in a new setting. It’s not about looking for something better; it’s about me and my personal journey as a player, and I believe now is the time for me to go and experience it.
Aside from Alexander-Arnold’s departure, Real Madrid has been engaged in controversy over their participation in the Club World Cup.
