Real Madrid Accused Of ‘Trolling’ PSG With Post After Chelsea Win Club World Cup

Fans have accused Real Madrid of trolling Paris Saint-Germain following their loss against Chelsea in the final of the FIFA Club World Cup.

In the final of the recently modified Club World Cup competition in the USA, Chelsea shocked everyone by defeating Champions League winners PSG 3-0 on Sunday night.

Cole Palmer, an England international who scored two goals and provided an assist on the third, led his team to a decisive victory over the French champions at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

Following the game, a number of teams that had also competed, notably Real Madrid, the semi-finalists, congratulated Chelsea on their victory on social media.

In contrast, some supporters are certain that the Spanish powerhouses were ‘trolling’ their rivals PSG after reading what they posted about the game.

Real Madrid’s Congratulatory Post To Chelsea

Reacting to Chelsea’s win on X, Real Madrid wrote: “Congratulations to Chelsea FC and all their fans for a well-deserved FIFA CWC title.

“And our congratulations to FIFA and its president Gianni Infantino for the brilliant organisation of the 2025 Club World Cup.”

Despite the post’s apparent innocence and good intentions, some supporters believe the Spanish team purposefully left out PSG, claiming they wouldn’t have congratulated the French team if they had won the trophy.

Replying to the post, one fan asked: “Why does this look like trolling?”

While another asked: “Would you have congratulated PSG if they had won?”

And a Chelsea fan wrote: “Madrid is lowkey thanking Chelsea for beating that team that embarrassed them. You’re all welcome.”
