Former Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa manager, Tim Sherwood has reportedly called Marcus Rashford ‘bang average’ despite his assist in Barcelona’s 2-1 defeat at home to Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League.
Rashford, 27, moved from Manchester United to Barcelona on a season-long loan in the summer after Ruben Amorim made it apparent that he wasn’t part of his plans. For a cool £30 million in 2026, the Catalan powerhouses may decide to make Rashford’s move permanent.
Rashford had a rough start at Barcelona, but since the international break in September, he has settled in. In fact, in his last six games for Barcelona, he has either scored or provided an assist.
Rashford assisted Ferran Torres in scoring the opening goal in Wednesday’s match against PSG in Europe’s premier competition.

Sherwood Commented On Rashford’s Display Against PSG
According to The Mirror, Sherwood, however, likened Rashford to teammate and Spanish star Lamine Yamal in spite of his most recent addition to the scoreboard.
Sherwood remarked: “He’s (Rashford) done OK. It suits him better when they had more control and they’re getting the ball out to him.
“But it’s unfair for him because Lamine Yamal gets it on the right-hand side, does a lot of pirouettes, the crowd is up, he has shots at goal, and they drop off him.
“When it goes out to the left to Marcus, he is one dimensional, we know what Marcus is and he’s very effective when he does it.
“He knocks it, he runs past people and when he doesn’t the crowd think, ‘why don’t you give us the same as the genius on the other side?’
Sherwood joked: “At the moment, he looks bang average because the kid on the other side is so good.”
