Real Madrid midfielder, Aurelien Tchouameni has called Benfica’s Gianluca Prestianni’s suspension for the second leg of their Champions League play-off a win.
While their investigation is ongoing, UEFA suspended Prestianni for one game after Vinicius Junior accused him of racist taunts during last week’s first leg.
Benfica and Prestianni were incensed that he had been suspended “without evidence,” with the 20-year-old accusing UEFA of having an affair with Real Madrid. .
But Tchouameni told El Chiringuito as reported by Football Espana following their 2-1 victory on Wednesday that he thought it was the right choice.

“He said to other players, that he said f*****, but Vinicius told us, what he said, you know. What’s happened to him, for me, I think it was the best decision.
“Knowing that this guy wasn’t playing today, as I’ve said, here are things more important than football, and today is a victory for all of us.”
After the game, goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois joked that he was positive Real Madrid would play Manchester City, one of two teams they could draw in the Round of 16, alongside Sporting CP. If nothing else, Tchouameni told Marca that travelling to Portugal was easier.
“Surely the trip to Lisbon is better than the trip to Manchester because it’s shorter, but in the end it doesn’t matter.
“I think if we want to win that competition we have to play against everyone, against the best teams, and it doesn’t matter who we play against. We have to show our best version.”
