Pressure On Ancelotti As Brazil Expect Decision ‘By Next Week’

According to Rodrigo Caetano, the Brazilian national team coordinator, the Seleçao will appoint a new coach within the next week. Carlo Ancelotti is very strongly linked to the job.

Ancelotti is rumored to have made an agreement to leave Real Madrid at the conclusion of the season, but the Italian strategist has stated that he would not divulge his future plans until after the La Liga season ends.

The serial Champions League champion is the top candidate to take over in Brazil, but the Brazilian Federation appears to be in a hurry to choose a new coach who would lead the squad in the World Cup qualifiers and, hopefully, the 2026 World Cup.

Brazil applied pressure on Ancelotti

“We hold internal meetings on a regular basis at CBF. Ednaldo [Rodrigues, President of the Brazilian FA] and I am working to find a new coach as soon as possible,” Rodrigo Caetano, coordinator of the Brazilian national teams, said Sport TV via TMW.

“These are confidential conversations; discussing percentages is very difficult. We understand that selecting the coach of the Brazil national team is a large responsibility, but we hope to complete it by next week at the latest.”

Ancelotti’s contract with Real Madrid runs until 2026, although he’s set to leave in the summer.

The Italian tactician remains the most successful coach in Merengues history, having won 15 titles at the Bernabeu.
