Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga is still struggling to find his rhythm and form following a year marred by injuries, according to AS article.
As competition for midfield slots at the Santiago Bernabeu heats up, the report also notes that manager Xabi Alonso is still assessing how to effectively integrate the Frenchman into his system despite the midfielder’s difficulties.
Camavinga’s circumstances are not at all perfect. He has played just 76 minutes since returning from a protracted injury layoff, spanning a few games against Villarreal, Levante, Espanyol, and others.
He hasn’t started a Real Madrid game in almost five months, which serves as a sobering reminder of how far he still has to go in his recuperation.
Camavinga’s mounting challenge
The Frenchman suffered four different ailments during the previous season. Due to those setbacks, he was unable to develop the rhythm and consistency that once distinguished him as one of Madrid’s most dynamic and adaptable midfield players.

Additionally, he was not actively involved in the early phases of Alonso’s tenure due to his absence.
Camavinga now faces additional competition for a midfield spot as a result of Arda Guler’s quick ascent.
Alonso is still attempting to determine Camavinga’s precise position, whether it be as a deep-lying midfielder or in a more dynamic capacity.
But it’s still difficult to get back into the starting lineup without complete fitness and rhythm.
French call
Despite his lack of playing time, Didier Deschamps has summoned him up for France’s national team, which has made matters worse.
Although representing his country is typically an honor, Camavinga may not be the best candidate for this call-up at this time. Due to his limited playing time, he is at serious risk of tiredness or re-injury.
In the meantime, Jude Bellingham, Federico Valverde, and Aurelien Tchouameni—all of Madrid’s normal starters—are taking it easy.
Camavinga may therefore be further pushed back in Alonso’s rotation as a result of his absence during this international break.
Camavinga, who is only 22, still has time on his side, but he needs confidence, rhythm, and steady playing time to regain his position, which he is keen to achieve.
