Following a successful season with the Magpies, the 24-year-old has become as one of England’s most sought-after young stars, sparking talk about a high-profile move.
Chelsea had already made significant efforts to secure Gordon’s services during Thomas Tuchel’s reign.
The Blues were thought to be close to completing a deal, but Newcastle moved in to sign the former Everton winger, thwarting Chelsea’s efforts.

Despite that wasted opportunity, the West London club may return to the table, however Newcastle’s current value of Gordon, which ranges between €85 and €90 million, could be a stumbling block for any suitors.
