Pep Guardiola is overjoyed that Nico O’Reilly has become the latest City player to sign a new deal that secures his future with the club.
On Friday, the 20-year-old signed a new five-year contract, which will keep him at the Etihad until 2030.
O’Reilly follows rapidly in the footsteps of Rico Lewis and Ruben Dias, both of whom have signed contract extensions with City.

Another former Academy player who excelled was Oscar Bobb, who appeared energized upon his introduction.
While many thought he was on target for Maxime Esteve’s second own goal, the manager was pleased that he was in the correct spot to create uncertainty.
“We need it, and we need the guys from the bench,” Guardiola added. “The first one or two games were not very excellent.
“The individuals who came off the bench, like Bernardo, gave us what we needed in those spots, so we are very pleased.
