Pep Guardiola Named The Toughest Manager He Has Ever Faced in His Career

Pep Guardiola is regarded as one of the greatest managers in history.

His legacy in the Premier League is second only to Sir Alex Ferguson’s, but he has also seen great success in Germany with Bayern Munich and Spain with Barcelona, reports Give Me Sport.

With each team he has managed, the Manchester City manager has achieved nearly every goal.

He has collaborated with amazing athletes and faced up against some of the best coaches in football history.

Guardiola has competed against the likes of Ferguson, Jurgen Klopp, Carlo Ancelotti and Arsene Wenger throughout the years, but one manager in particular stood out to him as the toughest opponent of his career.

Guardiola mentioned Klopp and that Liverpool team as his hardest opponent in a lecture he was giving at the UEFA Pro course in Spain. He stated:

“Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool have been the toughest I’ve ever faced in my life. There were days when I thought ‘I’ve got him’ and the next day he’d [Klopp] destroy me again.
