Pep Guardiola Hints At Double Man City Exit

Pep Guardiola has hinted that Manchester City could see two players leave the club as changes to the squad continue during the January transfer window.

The City manager spoke after his side’s Premier League win over Wolves, addressing speculation surrounding Oscar Bobb and Bernardo Silva.

Oscar Bobb has been strongly linked with a move away from the Etihad Stadium, with Fulham reportedly keen on signing the Norwegian winger on a permanent deal.

Bobb enjoyed a breakthrough during the 2023/24 season but has struggled to cement his place this campaign.

Guardiola admitted he believes the 22-year-old wants to leave the club, although he insisted there is no official update regarding his future.

Bobb has not featured in recent matchday squads following injury concerns and limited opportunities, reports Manchester evening news.

The City boss previously criticised Bobb’s impact in key moments, notably during the Champions League defeat to Bayer Leverkusen.

Since then, the winger has found game time hard to come by.

Fulham are understood to be preparing a bid worth around £30 million as they look to strengthen their attacking options before the window closes.

Bernardo Silva future also uncertain

Guardiola also refused to guarantee that Bernardo Silva will remain at Manchester City beyond the current season.

The Portuguese midfielder’s contract expires in the summer, fuelling further speculation.

Silva, who was appointed club captain last season, revealed earlier in the campaign that he has already made a decision on his future.

However, he has chosen not to make that decision public.

Guardiola praised Silva’s contribution to the club, describing him as one of the greatest players in City’s history regardless of what happens next.

With City expected to refresh their squad, the coming weeks could prove decisive for both players.

Guardiola made it clear that personal decisions will be respected as the club plans for the future.
