Ex-Man United Star Punished After pleading Guilty To Drink Driving

Former Manchester United and Liverpool midfielder, Paul Ince has reportedly been handed a 12-month ban after pleading guilty to drink driving at Chester Magistrates’ Court.

According to the Daily Express, the former midfield player was taken into custody after smashing his vehicle into a central reservation at the Heswall Golf Club last month.

After the incident, Ince was taken into detention by the police and charged with drink driving, to which he has now entered a guilty plea.

Following his appearance in court this morning (Friday), Ince was given a one-year driving ban and a £7,085 fine.

After the crash, Cheshire Police confirmed that Ince had been bailed to appear at court on July 18. A spokesperson said: “At around 5pm on Saturday 28 June, police were called following reports of a collision on Chester High Road, Neston.

“The incident involved a black Range Rover which had collided with the central reservation barrier.

“Officers attended the scene and arrested a 57-year-old man. Paul Ince, of Neston, has since been charged with drink driving.

“Ince has been bailed to appear at Chester Magistrates’ Court on Friday 18 July.”

Ince Career As A Footballer?

As the first Black man to captain England, Ince made history during his stellar playing career. He featured in the 1998 World Cup, Euro 2000, and Euro 1996, making a total of 53 appearances for the Three Lions.
Before making a high-profile move to United, the playmaker rose through the ranks at West Ham. Under Sir Alex Ferguson’s management, he flourished, winning the 1992 League Cup, the Premier League twice, and two FA Cups.
Ince left Old Trafford after six years to join Inter Milan abroad. Before coming back to England and signing a huge contract with Liverpool, he played for the Italian powerhouses for two years.
Ince scored 14 goals in two years with the Reds before spending the last years of his career with Wolves, Middlesbrough, and teams lower in the EFL hierarchy, such as Swindon Town and Macclesfield Town.
