Patrick Dorgu has reflected on his first six months at Manchester United and is determined to make an impact this season.
The young midfielder joined from Lecce in January for £25million, with potential add-ons of £4.1m.
Dorgu admits he was “thrown into everything” upon arrival, as United won just three Premier League games after his debut.

He has since grown in confidence, adjusting to the intensity of English football and Carrington’s demands.
Against Arsenal, Dorgu hit the post with a long-range strike, something he says he “wouldn’t have had the confidence to attempt last season.”

Looking ahead, Dorgu aims to help Manchester United compete for the Premier League title while bonding strongly with teammates like Cunha.
He emphasized the importance of learning Rasmus Hojlund’s attacking role and adapting to United’s evolving tactical approach under Ruben Amorim.
“I’m just trying to play myself into the team more,” he said. “Give the fans what they deserve and help put United where we need to be.”
Dorgu also revealed that his move attracted interest from major Italian clubs, although he chose United for the opportunity and urgency of the deal, reports MEN.
Staff at Carrington have noticed his development, praising his growing leadership on the pitch and readiness to embrace high-pressure matches.
