Andre Onana reportedly believes he will be given an opportunity to challenge Senne Lammens for the starting position at Manchester United in the upcoming campaign.
Onana, 29, was loaned to Turkish team Trabzonspor in September after United paid an initial £18.2 million to buy 23-year-old Lammens from Royal Antwerp.
The Red Devils have only lost two of their 19 Premier League games since Lammens made his debut. In addition, the Belgian kept four clean sheets, notably in the tense 1-0 triumph over Everton on Monday.
Onana Willing To Challenge Lammens For No.1 Jersey
Onana hasn’t been put off by his excellent form, though. The Cameroon international is determined to regain his spot as United’s starting goalkeeper, according to The Guardian, and he is sure that whoever is in charge will give him an opportunity.
In Turkey, Onana has had mixed reviews for his inconsistent efforts, which ultimately led to his departure at Old Trafford.
He was offered a five-year deal by United, who agreed to pay Inter Milan up to £47.2 million for his services in 2023.

Onana will have two years remaining on his contract when he returns to Manchester for preseason training this summer.
Tom Heaton and Altay Bayindir, United’s other goalkeepers, both have questionable futures.
Heaton’s contract is up, while Bayindir, who briefly replaced Onana at the beginning of the season, remains on the bench.
With Lammens tightly gripping the gloves, there is no longer any question about who should start in goal for the Red Devils.
