Barcelona’s long-awaited return to the Nou Camp faces another setback, with reports suggesting the club may delay the reopening once again.

This marks what could be the fifth major delay in their £1.3billion stadium redevelopment, causing concern among fans and club officials.
Earlier this month, the club cancelled plans to host the annual Joan Gamper Trophy at the revamped stadium due to licensing issues.
Barcelona had previously missed deadlines in November 2024, and again in February and May this year, causing mounting frustration.
According to Sport, the September home fixture against Valencia is now “increasingly unlikely” to take place at the Nou Camp.
The delay is tied to the city council’s refusal to issue an occupancy permit until all construction work is completed in full.
With that matchday fast approaching, Barcelona may be forced to host the game at the Estadi Johan Cruyff instead.
Returning to the Lluis Companys Olympic Stadium isn’t possible either, as another event is already booked at the venue that weekend, reports Daily Mail.
Even if the stadium reopens soon, capacity will remain reduced which is estimated between 50,000 and 60,000 until the full project finishes in 2026.
Barcelona remain hopeful but are exploring backup plans as they try to avoid disappointing fans with another postponed homecoming.
