Newcastle United are reportedly plotting a move to bring Barcelona forward, Ferran Torres back to the Premier League in the January transfer window.
According to Fichajes as reported by Caught Offside, Newcastle are set to present a substantial €75 million bid, including significant wages, in what could be one of the standout deals of the winter.
Torres has reestablished himself as a significant attacking option for Barcelona this season. The 25-year-old, who can operate on either wing or as a forward, has already featured in 17 matches, netting 9 goals and providing an assist.
In addition to making Torres one of the team’s highest-paid players, Newcastle’s offer would be financially generous in terms of the transfer fee, indicating their desire to treat him as a crucial pillar in a long-term quest for European competition.

Torres seems to have found his form again under coach Hansi Flick, as seen by his 2025 contributions, which included regular participation in La Liga and European games.
Barcelona Previously Rejected Offers For Torres
That said, Barcelona have previously rebuffed efforts to sell him. Newcastle and other Premier League teams reportedly saw offers of about €50 million rejected earlier in 2025, with the Blaugrana club openly stating that Torres was not for sale.
However, a €75 million offer could be difficult to reject due to financial strain and the possibility of reinvestment, particularly if the player is considered expendable in comparison to other squad requirements.
