Newcastle Told Victor Osimhen Would Be ‘Perfect Fit’ As Strikers Struggle for Goals

Newcastle United have been urged to consider signing Victor Osimhen this summer after the club’s current forward options struggled to deliver consistent goals this season.

Manager Eddie Howe saw the club invest heavily in attack after the departure of Alexander Isak to Liverpool.

Newcastle spent around £124 million on Nick Woltemade and Yoane Wissa, but the pair have struggled for goals during the second half of the campaign.

Woltemade impressed early in the season but has seen his form dip, while Wissa missed four months with a knee injury, limiting his impact for the Magpies.

Osimhen tipped as ideal Newcastle signing

Former Germany international Didi Hamann believes Osimhen would be an excellent addition for Newcastle if the club decides to strengthen their attack again in the summer transfer window.

The Nigerian striker currently plays for Galatasaray after leaving Napoli in 2024.

Hamann described Osimhen as one of the best centre-forwards in Europe and admitted he was surprised that Premier League clubs did not move for him earlier.

According to the former midfielder, Osimhen’s pace, physical strength and finishing ability make him an ideal striker for English football, reports Chronicle Live.

He also suggested the forward has been a major reason behind Galatasaray’s strong performances in both the Turkish league and the UEFA Champions League.

Hamann concluded that Osimhen would improve several Premier League teams and could be the perfect solution to Newcastle’s current goalscoring problems.
