Newcastle Respond To Man City Interest In Livramento

Newcastle United are reportedly not interested to entertain any offers from Manchester City for Tino Livramento.

As he looks to restructure his team, Pep Guardiola has made right-back one of his top priorities for City’s massive summer revamp.

After spending the second half of the season on loan at AC Milan, Kyle Walker will be permanently departing the Etihad in the summer.

According to reports, City have compiled a shortlist of four possible replacements.

According to The Northern Rock, Livramento is on that shortlist, and the City’s hierarchy are eager to have official discussions with their counterparts at St. James’ Park.

The report further claims that Eddie Howe and the rest of Newcastle’s recruitment team view the 22-year-old as a crucial component of the team’s future ambitions, thus any attempt to pursue a move for Livramento will be quickly rejected.

After joining the Magpies for a reported fee £32 million from Southampton in the summer of 2023, Livramento has grown to be a key member of Newcastle’s starting back four.

He has been the team’s starting right-back for the majority of the season. Because of his versatility, he was able to cover for Lewis Hall on the left when the left-back was injured in February.

Newcastle’s financial situation prevents them from having to sell any of their most valuable assets this summer.

If the team qualify for the Champions League within the next two weeks, this position will only be reinforced.

The Magpies will secure a spot in the top five if they win their next two games away against Arsenal and at home against Everton.
