Newcastle Agree Deal With Brentford For Wissa Following Isak Sale

Newcastle United have reportedly agreed a £55 million deal with Brentford for Yoane Wissa following the record breaking sale of Alexander Isak to Liverpool.

With personal terms accepted in principle, according to Sky Sports, the move is believed to be an initial £50 million plus £5 million in add-ons.

Wissa is scheduled for a medical examination on Monday afternoon after arriving in Newcastle.

The Magpies had several bids for Wissa turned down this summer, and the striker even moved to Instagram to vent his frustration at the transfer setback as he continue to push for a move to their Premier League rivals.

Isak is expected to leave Newcastle after a British record move for the striker was agreed on with Liverpool.

Wissa is Newcastle’s second new forward after they signed Nick Woltemade in a club-record deal. The club have insisted that Isak would only be sold if a suitable replacement could be identified.

Although they wanted his value to be met, Brentford were prepared to negotiate with Newcastle over Wissa.

The Bees intended to sign Max Beier but couldn’t agree on a fee with Borussia Dortmund, therefore they haven’t signed a replacement yet. On Deadline Day, Keith Andrews’ side are still putting in a lot of effort in the market.
