Neville Sends Premier League Title Warning To Liverpool Following ‘Clear Arsenal Message’

Gary Neville has reportedly reckoned Arsenal may be the best team in the Premier League after watching the Gunners rally from behind to secure a late victory at Newcastle United on Sunday.

Gabriel Magalhaes scored the game-winning goal in the 96th minute after Mikel Merino cancelled off Nick Woltemade’s opening goal in the 84th.

Arsenal moved back up to second place in the Premier League standings with the win, cutting the lead over leaders Liverpool to just two points.

Prior to their late comeback, Mikel Arteta’s team appeared to be five points behind when the defending Premier League champions lost to Crystal Palace in stoppage time on Saturday, denying them the chance to increase their lead.

A week after Arsenal had fallen behind Arne Slot’s team after their 1-1 draw with Man City, Neville was astounded by their comeback at St. James’ Park.

What Did Neville Say About Arsenal Following Victory At Newcastle?

And following the Gunners’ epic victory, the Manchester United legend issued a warning to the Reds after maintaining that only Liverpool and Arsenal had the chance to win the title this season.

“Mikel Arteta has got a brilliant squad,’ Neville said on his Sky Sports podcast. “He’s got a brilliant squad, I think he’s got the best squad in the league and maybe the best team in the league and I say that quietly because Liverpool are excellent.

“There’s only two teams who can win this league – Liverpool and Arsenal – I don’t think anyone else can.

“So I think it’s a big moment. It’s only September and it’s ridiculous to be speaking like this as someone who experienced title races.

“But what you’ve got to do is send out some calling cards and some clear messages that you’re there in the title race and I think that’s what Arsenal have done today.

“A week ago the glass was half empty, now it’s more than half full. Liverpool lose, Arsenal win in stunning fashion.”
