Mykhailo Mudryk Could Leave Chelsea Before Deadline Day Despite Ongoing Anti-doping Charges

Chelsea supporters are questioning whether Mykhailo Mudryk could depart before deadline day despite his ongoing provisional anti-doping suspension.

The Ukrainian winger has not featured for Chelsea since November 2024 following a positive test for meldonium.

Mudryk was provisionally suspended in December 2024 and formally charged by the FA six months later, reports Football London.

The 25-year-old has consistently denied intentional wrongdoing, claiming the substance entered his system unknowingly during international duty.

As a result, Mudryk has trained privately in London, remaining isolated from Chelsea’s first-team environment for over a year.

Chelsea’s Position and Transfer Reality

Under FA regulations, Mudryk faces a potential four-year ban if found guilty of deliberate anti-doping violations.

His legal team is pushing to reduce any punishment to time already served under suspension.

Despite posting a hopeful “see you soon” message recently, no official clearance has yet been communicated.

Mudryk remains contracted to Chelsea until 2031, though he lost the number ten shirt last summer.

Chelsea appear to be planning without him, investing heavily in wide attackers like Cole Palmer and Alejandro Garnacho.

Interest has reportedly emerged from Sevilla and sister club Strasbourg regarding a possible transfer.

Regulations technically allow suspended players to be transferred, though they cannot compete until fully cleared.

Any buying club would assume significant financial risk, covering wages without certainty over Mudryk’s eligibility.

Therefore, despite theoretical possibilities, most expect Mudryk to remain at Chelsea until a final FA ruling.
