Mosquera Makes ‘Sad’ Confession Ahead Of Arsenal Transfer

Cristhian Mosquera has lifted lid on the emotional strain of leaving Valencia ahead of his imminent switch to Arsenal.

The Spanish team’s efforts to persuade the defender to sign a new deal and stick with them seem to have been unsuccessful.

Arsenal are believed to have made a major breakthrough in negotiations with Valencia after at least one offer was turned down, and they are about to add another important player to their roster.

According to The Metro, prior to his €20 million transfer, Mosquera has a medical examination scheduled for Tuesday at the Gunners’ London Colney training center.

Speaking from his car as he left Valencia for the final time, he said: “Valencia is my home and it always will be.

“I arrived when I was 12, and now I’m leaving as a grown man, a little sad because you’ve been here your whole life, but decisions in football are like that. Now a new era begins.”

When asked about his departure, Mosquera added: “I prefer the club to talk first , and then whatever happens, it will happen. It’s exciting, but it’s also sad.”

The 21-year-old was adamant on joining Arsenal despite the emotional anguish of leaving his childhood team.

Mosquera will now join Mikel Arteta’s backline as the team aim to win the Premier League title following three successive seasons of near misses.
