Mohamed Salah Made Agreement After Arne Slot Pushed To Drop Liverpool Forward

Theories on how to overcome Liverpool’s current problems have been many throughout the last few weeks of underperformance. Mohamed Salah has been one of the most consistent players.

After last season’s stellar performances that propelled the Reds to the Premier League title, the Egyptian has found life more difficult this season, with several calls for Arne Slot to drop him as the Dutchman works to integrate summer signings Florian Wirtz, Hugo Ekitike, and Alexander Isak into his evolving team. The Egyptian has not been at his best thus far and appears to be nowhere near the levels he was at a year ago, when he was tearing up the Premier League. His 29 Premier League goals effectively propelled Arne Slot’s side to the title by the time the warmer months arrived.

However, with five more this season, he trails only Hugo Ekitike, and while this has been a big-spending summer to remodel the assault, the thought of Salah being phased out to accommodate the likes of Florian Wirtz and Alexander Isak seems a little premature.

The idea of Ekitike and Isak forming a more traditional two-man frontline has yet to be tested as an experiment, but it is a tactical ploy that the head coach may try at some point, especially if attacking midfielder Wirtz plays directly behind the pair and is tasked with loading the bullets.
