Lionel Messi has delivered another powerful “we’ll be back” message to Barcelona after being officially crowned the “most beloved player” in the club’s history.
The Inter Miami star earned the honour through a fan vote, beating legends such as Johan Cruyff, Ronaldinho, Xavi and Andres Iniesta.
Messi said the recognition means even more because it comes from supporters who have shared every high and low of his career.

Messi returned to Catalunya recently for a quiet visit to the redeveloped Camp Nou, the place where he scored 672 goals in 778 games and lifted 10 La Liga titles and four Champions League trophies.

The eight-time Ballon d’Or winner said he feels a deep emotional bond with the club and supporters, insisting Barcelona remains his “home, place and people”.
Messi revealed that he and his wife Antonela have already decided to settle permanently in Barcelona once his playing career ends.
Despite now playing in MLS, Messi remains adored by fans of all generations, including many who never saw him at his peak before he left for PSG in 2021.
Speaking after receiving the award, Messi said he will return as a fan, attending matches and supporting the team like any other Barcelona loyalist.
He added that he misses the city deeply and always hoped to finish his entire European career with the Blaugrana, reports GOAL.
Messi admitted his Barcelona journey had tough moments as well as triumphs, but the connection remains unbreakable.
He ended by reaffirming that he will “definitely return” to the club and city he still calls home.
