Kylian Mbappe quickly wrote a farewell letter to former Liverpool star Xabi Alonso following his mutual decision to leave Real Madrid.
Less than a day after their Spanish Super Cup defeat to fierce rivals Barcelona in Saudi Arabia, the Spanish giants confirmed their decision. Alonso had been under increasing pressure at the end of last year.
In addition to losing to both Liverpool and Manchester City in the Champions League this season, Real are now four points behind their bitter rivals Barcelona.
A few hours after the news broke, Mbappe was the first player to honor his former manager.

According to LiverpoolFCnews, sharing an image of the two in a warm embrace, Mbappe penned: “It’s been short but it was a pleasure to play for you and learn from you. Thank you for giving me the confidence since Day 1.
“I will remember you as a manager who had clear ideas and knows many things about football. Best of luck for your next chapter.”
Factors That Led To Alonso’s Exit
Conflicts with a number of important players, including Vinicius Jr., Rodrygo, and Endrick, have dogged Alonso’s time at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Following Sunday night’s loss to Bara, he also got into an awkward situation with Mbappe when the forward appeared to belittle the 44-year-old.
During Barcelona’s trophy presentation, Alonso seemed to tell his players to offer a guard of honor, but no Madrid player did so, and Mbappe seemed to brush off the Spaniard’s request.
Alonso and Mbappe had a tactical disagreement before Sunday’s final, according to the BBC, and he reportedly had a confrontation with president Florentino Perez on Monday before the decision to split up was reached later that day.
