Real Madrid forward, Kylian Mbappe has created another piece of history following his goal in Los Blancos’ 2-1 win over Real Mallorca at the Santiago Bernabeu on Wednesday night.
The France international’s goal in the 68th minute of the La Liga match levelled the score. However, Jacobo Ramon’s goal in the 95th minute gave Carlo Ancelotti’s team the victory to extend the title fight by an additional day.
In Sunday’s El Clasico, Mbappe made history by surpassing Ivan Zamorano, who scored 37 goals in his first season with Real Madrid, with his first two goals against Barcelona, bringing his total to 38.
The attacker completed his hat trick to reach 39 goals, but Barcelona won 4–3 and Ancelotti’s team were unable to earn a victory despite the Frenchman’s treble.

Mbappe’s goal on Wednesday night brought his season total to 40. According to Sports Mole, the 26-year-old has now surpassed Alfredo Di Stefano’s record of the most La Liga goals scored by a Real Madrid player in their first season by one, to 28.
After arriving from Millionarios, di Stefano managed 27 for Los Blancos in the 1953–54 season.
Real Madrid head coach Ancelotti praised his side for ‘fighting’ to secure all three points against Mallorca.
“The team has fought a lot in the game and has played with intensity, especially in the second half. Absolutely deserved victory.
“Everyone has made a great effort and we are happy because we want to end the season well,” he told reporters.
