The Manchester United midfielder, who joined from Chelsea in 2023, has faced injury setbacks but hopes to enjoy a full, productive season ahead.

Mount hasn’t played for England since the 2022 World Cup, but Tuchel’s familiar voice gave him confidence to aim for a Three Lions comeback.

“He called just to catch up,” Mount explained. “No guarantees, but it was great to speak and hear his excitement for the role.”

The pair worked together at Chelsea, winning the Champions League in 2021, but Mount knows England competition is fiercer than ever now.

“He said international football isn’t the same as club,” said Mount. “But the chat gave me extra push to return stronger.”

Mount admitted representing England remains a dream and said he cherishes every chance to wear the national shirt with pride.

“My focus is Manchester United,” he added. “If I perform there, then hopefully that opportunity for England will come back to me soon.”

He remains determined to prove himself again for both club and country in the coming year, reports ESPN.
