Marcelo Names Barcelona Star He Would Sign For Real Madrid

Former Real Madrid left-back and club legend Marcelo was asked to select one FC Barcelona player he would like to bring in for Los Blancos.

According to Barca Universal, the former Brazil international chose Barcelona star Pedri over attacking sensation Lamine Yamal, saying he thought the midfield player would be a better addition even though the 18-year-old winger might be the preferred option.

“Right now, I would sign Pedri for Real Madrid. He has Madrid qualities. Everyone would say Lamine, but I think Pedri would be a better signing,” said Marcelo.

It’s interesting to note that Pedri could have joined Real Madrid. During his youth football days, the Spanish capital club called the midfield superstar for a trial, but they ultimately turned him down.

Marcelo Reveals Messi Is His Toughest Opponent

Marcelo also discussed the Lionel Messi vs. Cristiano Ronaldo debate and identified the Barcelona legend as one of the toughest opponents he had faced in his career.

“Messi was very tough. Jesús Navas also made it very difficult for me, and I found Xabi Prieto very difficult to defend against too. Pedrito was also very good,” said Marcelo.

“I’ll always go with Cristiano. Messi is incredible. We’ve enjoyed both of them, well, I’ve only enjoyed one. I’m a die-hard Cristiano fan,” the Real Madrid legend acknowledged.
