Manchester United gave Ayden Heaven the opportunity to start for the Under-21s against Solihull Moors on Tuesday after included him in the first-team squad against Everton. Heaven’s sole senior appearance of the season came against Grimsby Town in the Carabao Cup second round. He played 64 minutes at Blundell Park before being replaced by Mason Mount.
The defender has made two substitute appearances in the Premier League this season, against Fulham and Brighton, therefore Heaven was given the opportunity to get some minutes with the U21s. Heaven made a goal-line clearance in the start of the match. He played 66 minutes, and the U21s lost 4-1, confirming their elimination from the National League Cup with one game remaining.

It remains to be seen whether Heaven moves on loan during the January transfer window. The 19-year-old is regarded as a first-team player, but he has made only three senior appearances this season. Heaven was purchased from Arsenal for about £1 million in the last January window, and Ruben Amorim praised him on the final day of the Premier League season.
Following the 2-0 victory over Aston Villa, Amorim told MUTV: “I think Jason Wilcox is doing an excellent job with Ayden. I believe that these players are what we need. He demonstrated a high level of talent and character following the major injury. We want these kinds of players.”
Mikel Arteta gave Heaven his senior Arsenal debut in a Carabao Cup match in October 2024, but he turned out a new deal in London and moved to Manchester on a minor transfer fee. Heaven made his Manchester United debut against his previous club Arsenal at Old Trafford in March. The kid replaced Leny Yoro and made a terrific first impression.
